Welcome to Pennsylvania + Wall, SIFMA’s new blog.
SIFMA stands at the intersection of financial markets and public policy. Our blog will inform the dialogue on how public policy, regulatory rulemaking and legislative action impacts the functioning of financial markets and the industry, as well as families, individual investors, small businesses and the broad economy.
Through Pennsylvania + Wall, SIFMA will look to address current public policy and regulatory debates taking place in Washington, D.C. and New York, but also in other world capitals.
The regulation stemming from the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act will certainly be a focus of this blog. But, we will address a whole host of other issues that affect our industry. From market structure changes in the wake of the Flash Crash, to the implementation of Basel III capital and liquidity standards, to tax reforms and how Americans can save for retirement.
At SIFMA, we aim to be the go-to resource for stakeholders looking to gain further insight into matters that affect the financial industry and the broader economy. Pennsylvania + Wall will be yet another resource to communicate important insights as we work through a very important year for the economy and the future of our industry.
